Description

Safe and Sound Health’s Washproof Finger Bandage and Applicator has been designed to take the difficulty out of dressing and bandaging your own finger following an injury. Each pack contains a 4-meter finger bandage, an easy-to-use applicator and a plastic finger stall for protecting the finger bandage from water and moisture.

The 4-meter finger bandage and applicator can be used to create a variety of different finger bandages and dressings, helping to protect and cushion the injury while it heals. The bandage can be cut to size, allowing you to use only what you need. You can also purchase refill packs for the bandage applicator here.

The Washrpoof Finger Bandage and Applicator come with a protective and flexible plastic finger stall that keeps bandages clean and dry, preventing moisture from reaching the wound while it is healing. The plastic finger stall has an adjustable elastic wrist strap for easy self-application.

Application

Closed-end bandage:

Before applying the finger bandage, ensure the wound is clean and dry.

1. Measure and cut the bandage to approximately three times the length of the finger.
2. Loosely gather the bandage onto the applicator and place applicator over the finger to be treated, so the open sides are between the fingers
3. Hold the bandage at the base of the finger and slowly withdraw the applicator.
4. Once the base of the applicator is just above the top of the finger twist the applicator round once
5. Push the applicator back down the finger, so the bandage is double in thickness.
6. Remove the applicator.
7. Secure the bandage in place using adhesive tape

Open-end bandage:

Before applying the finger bandage, ensure the wound is clean and dry.

1. Measure and cut the bandage to approximately the length of the finger to be treated.
2. Follow the instructions for the closed-end bandage. However, when withdrawing the applicator stop before you get to the end of your finger
3. Twist the applicator half a turn.
4. As with the closed-end bandage, push the applicator back towards the base of the finger
5. Secure the bandage in place using adhesive tape

Tied Bandage:

Before applying the finger bandage, ensure the wound is clean and dry.

1. Measure and cut the bandage 4 to 5 times the length of the finger to be treated.
2. Follow the instruction for the closed-end bandage. However, once the second layer of the bandage has been applied, keep the remainder of the applicator and cut down each side
3. Remove the applicator and tie the two loose strips together at the base of the bandage to prevent it from tearing
4. Wrap the two pieces around the wrist and tie securely

Washproof Finger Stall:

1. Fully extend strap
2. Carefully slide the stall over the affected finger
3. Adjust the strap for a comfortable and secure fit

Safe and Sound Health’s 4-meter finger Bandage Refill is designed to be used with Safe and Sound Health’s Finger Bandage Applicator. The 4-meter bandage refill provides additional bandaging that can be applied using the applicator.

The 4-meter finger and thumb bandage can be used to create a variety of different bandages and dressings using the applicator with Safe and Sound Finger Bandage and Applicator. The easy-to-use applicator helps in applying our 4-meter finger and thumb bandages.

Our finger dressing is a small bandage explicitly designed for covering and protecting finger injuries, perfect for when a plaster won’t provide enough protection.

The finger dressing comes supplied with ‘quick fix’ tape, so you can easily secure the finger dressing without help from another person.

The finger dressing has a low adherent wound pad attached to the soft dressings. The absorbent wound pad cushions the wound during healing and protects from infection.

Our finger dressing is simple and easy to apply, providing effective protection to the injured finger. The finger dressing is suitable for use on both adults and children.

Instructions

Before using Safe and Sound Health’s Finger Dressing, clean the wound and surrounding area with water or antiseptic spray and gently pat the area dry

1. Start by position the pad over the wound and wrap the bandage around the entire finger
2. Remove the paper backing from the ‘quick fix’ tape
3. Fold the end of the dressing under and secure by pressing lightly

The finger dressing should be firm, but not too tight, as swelling may develop. Check for signs of constriction after application, e.g. discolouration

Application 

Thoroughly wash your hands before tending to any open wounds with either soap and water or antibacterial hand gel 

1. Gently rinse the wound with water, removing any dirt or grit. You can use an antiseptic wipe or antiseptic spray to clean and disinfect the wound and surrounding area
2. Carefully pat the wound and surrounding area dry
3. Using a pair of scissors, cut the dressing strip to the required size
4. Ensuring the non-stick wound pad is covering the cut or graze, firmly press the adhesive down, making sure there are no bumps or gaps around the edges

The fabric dressing strip has a large non-stick wound pad in the centre that cushions the wound and protects it from the risk of infection. Application

Thoroughly wash your hands before tending to any open wounds with either soap and water or antibacterial hand gel

5. Change the dressing when required
