Elastic Adhesive Bandages (EAB) are multifunctional, self-securing first aid bandages. They can be used to create and apply localised pressure to soft tissue injuries such as wrist or ankle sprains, muscle sprains, swollen limbs or bruising. Elastic adhesive bandages apply even and stable pressure to the injured area, preventing fluid from gathering at the injury site, which in turn reduces swelling.
In sports, EAB tapes are used to wrap soft tissue injuries or weak joints to help provide compression and support to the area. The self-securing bandage is painless and hassle-free to remove, as it does not stick to skin or hairs.
In first aid, elastic adhesive bandages are used as part of RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation. By combining rest and elevation with compression, the elastic adhesive bandage can help to control swelling and ease pain following a joint of muscle injury. Alternatively, this type of bandage can be used to hold dressings and bandages in place, helping to stem bleeding by applying localised pressure to the wound.
Our elastic adhesive bandages are incredibly soft and stretchy, allowing you to apply the correct level of support and compression to the injury. This versatile and multifunctional bandage is essential in every first aid kit.
To help give a better stick, prepare the skin before applying the elastic adhesive tape
